Finally loving the Easter Bunny

It's a strange concept if you think about it: asking a child to cozy up to a giant, humanoid rabbit for the express purpose of a parental photo-op.  Not only is this a stranger - which we parents spend an inordinate amount of time warning children off of - but he usually doesn't even speak.  Weird, right?  So in an attempt to be understanding of the fact that this might be scary for a kid, I've never been one to push the whole Easter Bunny experience.  Just show up wherever the Big Guy happens to be and see what happens.  And finally, jackpot...

It didn't hurt that we'd done a pretty thorough job of emphasizing the fact that the Bunny was in charge of filling her Easter basket with toys.

Lila was less convinced of his magnificence.

When it was time for the Easter Bunny to visit our house, I told Ava that he was going to be a busy guy that night and might appreciate a snack.  I asked her what she thought he might like, and after much thought she stated emphatically that it was definitely strawberries and Diet Coke.  Apparently she was right.  He left a note expressing his thanks.

He also left behind some major loot.  Turns out that rabbit is pretty awesome.

Lila's block maze was fine for playing with indoors, but that super-cool bike practically begged for a trip to the park.

All-in-all it was a pretty terrific day.  Hope the Easter Bunny was good to you too.
